Hotel's Salon - What a rip off

On Saturday afternoon, my cousin who was from out of town wanted to have his hair cut.

I looked at him and said "What? You got enough hair to cut meh?"
Seriously, his hair was really short (according to my standards) and he wanted to have it cut? If I was the barber (or hair stylist for that matter), I'd probably have a hard time charging him for that. I think it would be more worth-while trimming old men's nose hair than cutting his hair.

Then I realised that he was one of those people who really like their hair really short, and if it grew a little bit, it would considered "long hair" for them.

But then, if you have hair to cut, or you don't have, the place to go is those high class salons - like Hotel's SALON in Imperial Mall. That place freaks me out big time. The place looks so expensive, the so-called hair stylist looks like aliens, and the service normally comes "without a smile". For the price you pay, the least you can get is a smile right? But then again, I forgot Marsians don't smile.

Anyway, whenever I pass by this SALON I always like to look at the posters and photos of ALAN (the owner of the salon) himself posing with his "apprentices" and fellow "hair stylist". He likes to make those big posters and hang them outside the salon for all to see. And I always enjoy looking at them, because it makes me laugh so much that it pretty much makes my day. I mean, if there was anybody more "vain" or so "into himself", ALAN is the one. I mean, his house is probably filled with portraits of himself from the garage all the way to the kitchen. And the pose that he makes! Oh my God. It's supposed to be a "trade mark" pose of his.

But in all seriousness, people say he's a nice guy. And I guess he probably is.

So that afternoon, I dropped my cousin at Imperial Mall at 2pm.
At 4pm, we fetch him.

"You didn't get a haircut meh?" I asked.
Well, I don't have to explain so much, cause before and after didn't make much difference.

I then asked, "How much did ALAN charge you?"

"Oh. I looked at the price list outside the shop, those juniors charge less lah. So the most experience ones chargedUS 25"

"So, you paid $25 for that?

What else did they do?""Nothing. Just cut and wash with water" he replied.

"Not even shampoo?" I asked.

"No. Just water. And it was not $25 lah" He said

It costs him $35! And it wasn't even a beautiful lady cutting his hair. What a rip-off!

For $35, it should be a least a beautiful lady hair stylist lah, who would rub her b***s on his face a couple of times to make that money count for something man!
