Magic & Predections... Where do we really stand

My hand phone rang at 4.50pm yesterday. The screen displayed Ms. Natalie's name (my new boss). It got me a little bit nervous as I was wondered "Why is she calling me?"

I answered the call "Hello. Ma'am"

"Hi. Are you convenient to talk?" she said

"Yes. Yes. Anything I can do for you?"

"Ah ok. Can you give me your date and time of birth? I need to arrange your office" she said.

Did I hear her correctly? I was a "little" bit confuse there.
"Sorry? My what?" I asked.
"I need to know your date and TIME of birth, cause I need to arrange your office" she said one more time.

It really didn't make any sense to me at that time - Why on earth does knowing my date and time of birth got to do with employment?
But this time I didn't dare to ask her again, for fear of offending her.

"I was born on 30th Jul, but the time I'm not sure. I need to call my mom" I replied."Ok.

Please call your mom and get back to me before 5.

I need to get the Prediction Master to come and calculate your birth time and locate the best office for you".????

Not wanting to make a big deal of anything, I called my mom "Mom, what time was I born ah?""

and without asking any further question she replied 09am?"

So I called Ms. Natalie back and told her "My mom said 09am."

"Ok. Thanks. Now I will get the Prediction Master to calculate and make sure you get the best room. Bye"

Now, you see. I'm not a believer of this or anything like that, but since my New Boss believed in it, I had to make sure I didn't offend her in anyway.

So I went up to Ash and told him what had happened. And he said "What if you gave her the wrong time, would that matter?"Then it got me thinking, if I really didn't believe in, why did I even bother giving her the correct time of my birth?
I mean, I could have just simply given her a time and it wouldn't really matter to me.

Now would it?

I guess being a non-believer of Prediction is one thing, but HOPING that it actually works is another thing.
