Work opportunity 2

It had been 2 days since I last heard from Mark, and I told myself that the boss probably freaked out and died, or he probably decided to pay a lower amount (i.e Peanuts) and get a monkey to work for him as Group Operation. I was trying to psych myself out of thinking about that job.

I wanted to call Mark, but if I did, he probably would think I'm "actually interested" in the job - therefore made me look "desperate", or he probably didn't wanna call me cause he didn't know how to tell me that the boss thought I was crazy to ask for that much.


So that Today evening around 16:45, whilst I was still at the office working, the phone rang and Joe my colleauge answered my mobile cause I had forgotten my mobile at his office few minutes ago.


Then after about 1 minute or so, Joe came running to me and said to me (a bit shaken up), "You applied for Group Operation at XXXXXXX Group of Companies ah? Mr. Jack (the boss) is on the line and he wants to speak to you about the post"


So I picked up the phone, amid with nervousness and spoke to Mr. Jack.


He introduced himself, which I didn't think was necessary, cause I know who he was and we started talking. He told me about the post and said he would be willing to offer me USXXXXX minimum, and that we could still negotiate on that.


Obviously the amount he offered was slightly below what I wanted. But since he said it was the MINIMUM he was offering, I interpreted it as he could go higher. Right? Did I assume right here guys?


Anyway, he went to tell me what my task would be, etc. Whatever he said for the next 10 minutes or so was a blur to me, cause I was thinking of ways to negotiate a higher pay when I meet him next.


Before he hung up, he told me to come to his office in DUBAI and meet the staff there, aiming to understand the operations, then we can sit down and discuss terms (and hopefully my FAT SALARY PACKAGE!!).


We agreed that I will call him next week to inform him the date and time to be there, and yet couldn't stop thinking of a way to get my package better, When I see him, I'm gonna ask for:


1) Minimum USXX,XXXX

2) Armord Mercedes Benz (cause a Group Operationt must travel in style, and to represent the image of his company)

3) 30 days annual leave per year

4) Medical Benefit US4,000 per year to include family members (my current employer's medical benefit is US1800 - PER YEAR! my knee operation will cost only $2200)

5) Annual Passage to Europe, Americas or Australia/New Zealand

6) Yearly increment of 10%

7) Yearly bonus of at least 2 months

8) My own 180 sqm office (a dream that will never be realised with my current employer, cause all the offices are given to "Big Bosses" only)

9) Monthly Petrol Allowance - unlimited

10) Last, Computer with Streamyx connection, so I can still SKYPE with Frank and Natali



Yeah, that should be enough.
